I Still Stand

'I Still Stand' Lyrics

Written by Noella (Noel) Freeman on November, 2025.

[verse 1]

I cancel those words
and diminish that fear.
You have no stronghold;
you’re not welcome here.

[Chorus]

By the blood of Jesus, I still stand
With authority and power by His hand
I’ll take up arms and shoot my flame
Into the devil’s camp
By the blood of Jesus, I still stand
By the blood of Jesus

[verse 2]

Through discord and division,
I feel powerless in my home.
Let Your peace come break the tension;
You heal what’s come undone.

[Bridge]

Although I’m frail, I second-guess
Your will for my life. It feels like a mess.

But only You see
What You plan for me
So I’ll still stand

By the blood of Jesus

Inside the Song

What Was I Doing?

On December 5th, I was going through the Priscilla Shirer - Armor of God bible study with some close friends and we were getting DEEP. We were stepping into the God-given authority and word that He tells us about going into battle and proactively fighting for our families instead of waiting on just being on defense. The conversations that morning sparked this fire inside of me and the Lord gave the lyrics to me all at once.

The Why

This song was written from a place of walking through hard things in life—something every one of us will face. In John 16:33, Jesus tells us that in this world we will have trouble. The question is: What are you going to do when it comes? Are you going to crumble beneath the weight of it, or are you going to rise, stand firm in the face of fear and opposition, and keep moving forward?

“I Still Stand” is about refusing to let the enemy have the final word. It is about recognizing the battle for what it is, standing firm in the authority God has given us, and choosing to fight back instead of allowing fear, discouragement, division, or opposition to take ground in our lives. The lyric about “shooting your flame into the devil’s camp” represents taking a proactive stand—bringing the fight to the enemy instead of simply waiting for him to come after you.

The line “I cancel those words and diminish that fear” is especially personal to me. It is a declaration rooted in the awareness that the same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead lives in us (Romans 8:11), and that our words carry power (Proverbs 18:21). We do not have to agree with every fearful thought, every lie spoken over us, or every voice telling us to shrink back.

The enemy is a liar. He wants to keep us walking in fear, passivity, complacency, and distraction—living life merely “good enough,” with blinders on, never recognizing the spiritual battle happening around us.

Ephesians 6:12 reminds us that our struggle is not ultimately against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces of darkness. That changes the way we fight. We are not called to attack people; we are called to recognize the true enemy, put on the armor of God, stand firm in our faith, and refuse to sit idly by while the enemy attempts to steal, kill, and destroy what God has entrusted to us.

“I Still Stand” is an anthem for anyone who has been knocked down, intimidated, discouraged, or afraid. It is a call to get back up, recognize the authority you have through Christ, fight for your faith, fight for your family, and keep standing.

Fear does not get the final word.
The enemy does not get the final word.

I'm still here and I Still Stand.

The image on the cover: The girl in this photo is me at 15 years old.

Around that time, I went on my first date with a 23-year-old man after telling my parents he was 17. That night, I lost my virginity (rape) in a way I wasn't prepared for or able to fully understand. I didn't tell anyone what had happened for years because I didn't even know how to process it myself.

That experience became the beginning of a long struggle with my worth. I started believing I wasn't good enough and that I had to earn the right to be loved, chosen, and valued.

That's why this photo is on the cover. It represents where part of the battle began.

“I Still Stand” represents the woman who decided it wouldn't end there.
